A Historic Grade 1 Listed Church

St Peter's has been here for nearly 1000 years. Our Church is recognised as the preferred rural location closest to Wellington for weddings, christenings, funerals and other special services. It is used over 350 times a year by both the local and surrounding community

Heart of the Village
St. Peter's church is at the heart of the village of Wrockwardine, a designated conservation area, and is the centre of the surrounding parish.
History
St. Peter's Saxon origins combined with the fine Norman tower make it a building of great local and national historical importance. It is one of the very few churches mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book
Interior
Inside the church is an oak Chancel Screen, and fine Jacobean oak pulpit. There are three fonts in the church.
Services
The Church has weekly services broadcast over the internet and listened to around the world. We welcome visitors to our church, which has a lively pattern of modern and traditional services. Visitors of all denominations are always welcome to share fully in communion.
Fellowship
We have mother and toddler groups, Sunday school and regular coffee mornings.
Community
The Church is involved in Community events throughout the year. St. Peter's Church of England (C) Primary School in Bratton is closely associated with the church,

Restoration Fund

The Restoration Fund is determined to ensure that this unique and historic church survives for the next 1000 years.

Finance

We need to raise 750,000 to ensure St. Peter's continues to serve the community at large.

Lottery Funded

St. Peter's restoration project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, but we will need to raise much more than currently pledged.

The Bell Tower and Roof
Urgent attention is needed for roof repairs and to install a safe new internal route to the Tower for bell ringers, maintenance to the bells and clock and access to the parapet
Weathering
The majority of the external windows need urgent renovation where the original stone and the surrounding masonry is crumbling away

The clock needs to be fully restored to work again
